Will Linksys WMP 54 G Wireless PCI Adapter Work?

I am building a computer system that will run Ubuntu Linux as an operating system. Since I already have a Linksys Network running with Wireless-G Broadband Router (WRT54-G)with two Windows XP computers. Would like to know if WMP 54 G Wireless-G PCI adapter will work in the Unix system?

This is my first post.

Thank you for your help!

I would check what wireless chip it uses, I believe that Linksys uses Atheros chips which have excellent linux support but I am not sure.

I suggest using wired to wireless bridges (aka access points) instead of internal wireless NIC because internal wireless NIC creates problems with computers. Access points do not need any software because all the software they need is already in them. You just need to setup a static IP address and setup the access point to connect to your network. Your computer will not slow down when using WEP, WPA, or AES because the access point does all the encryption and decryption by it self.

I recommend people using desktops to use a wired network instead of wireless network because a wired network is more reliable, stable, easier to setup, predictable, and cheaper.
