Will a firewire host adaptor with a Linux supported IEEE1394 chipset work in linux?

Hey guys,

I want to add a firewire card to my computer, and I think I have found the one I want. The card is an Advantek Networks AFW-03P. It uses a VIA VT6306 chipset, which is listed on linux1394.org as "working great". As long as the cards chipset is supported, will that mean that the card will work?

Thanks,

-Brad
