WiFi undetected on Dell Vostro 1500 with any distro

I just installed Manjaro and it too does not allow the wifi card to work. Apparently Manjaro sees it but does not allow it to work.

Now what?

Your Broadcom BCM4312 card requires a "nonfree" driver.

You can download and install the driver directly from Broadcom: https://www.broadcom.com/support/dow...Infrastructure

Or, easier method, consult your distribution's documentation. Probably there is a distro-specific method to easily install the Broadcom driver. (But, I'm not a Manjaro user so I can't say for sure.)

OK, thanks but that card is not in their list. No download available. Tried that link with Win7Pro and Manjaro.

Thanks Folks,

Does Manjaro have access to AUR?

OK, the driver listed is b43-pci-bridge
None of the suggestions seem to help.
I copied the slack drivers b43 (both).

Since I'm a greenie I am lost.
I looked over all of the links and they make no sense, sorry.
I can get around in Nitr-OS9 but not Arch. :-)

Yes this is ARCH Manjaro, latest one I believe, #232.

IdeZilla,

antiX will usually allow the automatic enabling of broadcom wifi drivers.

antiX-16.1 is based on Debian:
http://antix.mepis.org/index.php?title=Main_Page

Download the 32 bit antiX-16.1_386-full.iso:
http://antix.mepis.org/index.php?tit...Page#Downloads

antiX-16 FAQs:
http://download.tuxfamily.org/antix/...FAQ/index.html

To enable wifi after installation:

Menu > Control Centre > Network > Network Interfaces (ceni) > wlan0 > follow wizard and give SSID/network name and wifi password.

The first driver on the list is the right one for your BCM4312 card:

Quote:
Linux® STA 64-bit driver
These packages contain Broadcom's IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n hybrid Linux.. device driver for use with Broadcom's BCM4311-, BCM4312-, BCM4313-, BCM4321-, BCM4322-, BCM43224-, and BCM43225-, BCM43227- and BCM43228-based hardware.
