Why my DVD writer doesn't work at installation time of linux????

Dear friends,

I have a intel celeron machine with one cd writer and other Dvd writer. whenever I install to the linux through the cd rom it work as usual but whenever I used the LG dvd writer to install linux, It first boot then show the warning message that Linux ISO not found... But my dvd writer is fine when I using it in window. My dvd drive can install window. But the problem arises whenever i want to install linux through dvd. Can any one help me....???

Perhaps your dvd drive is not set to boot an iso cd in your bios. Only your cd drive. Is it a real problem ?

Could be a CD quality issue too. It may only be your DVD writer is good enough to read a crappy copy.

I just recently went thru that with a batch of Immation's. Could read and write with one drive, but not the others. Switched to Sony's problem was no more.

Is it an internal or external drive? If it's external, even though the bios is able to boot from it, maybe the linux installer is not loading any drivers needed to read from an external source.

Thats true. If it is an external one, it does not. I had the same problem.
