Why isnt hda1 booting????

hi,

I have problems starting up my computer.
I have both WinXp and Linux Mandriva on my computer both in different hard disks. When i attempt to boot into WinXp it stops at "verifying dmi pool data..."

WinXP is in hda1
Mandriva is in hdb(boot from floppy)

On the other hand when i boot mandriva, it says hda1 doesnt exist.

I hope someone can help me get thru this problem.

Did you recently put in the second hard disk? If so, are the jumper settings on the hard disks (master/slave) ok?
What also might help is to post you your menu.lst
