Unhappy why is this happening!!!

linux boots and wont start the X server just locks up.
Running M3N-HT Deluxe with an AMD 9950 Phenom Quad, does the same thing with sys commander 9, bios updated to rev 1502, just hangs and locks up the bios.

Is it a mobo fault or something else

Please help.

N.B: have tried with probe and without i dont know what else i can change in the bios.

Does anyone know the correct settings for the 9950 phenom running 4G's of mem at 1066?
Mobo bios info is unclear.

Trying to install red hat enterprise 5 64bit

What brand and model are your memory sticks?

I've had certain brands of memory cause this problem. Go into BIOS and change the
setting for Report all memory errors to OFF or DISABLED. I have been able to get the
system to boot with this setting. There are no other problems with the system just some
minor error that stops the system on boot.

Can you boot with the "runlevel=1" option and get a shell? If you can, then inspect the messages in /var/log and see if you can find out where things go bad.
