i'm trying for days now to install a printer on my debian server. (want to use it for my home network) but everything i try - information i find on the internet) seems to fail. i've installed so many things already, that i'vce probably messed up my entire system. :-(
i'm trying to install a lexmark z51 - i know its not the best linuxprinter you can get. can someone please give me a step by step guide to get this one installed so i can try to install samba?
You can go to LlinuxPrinting.org and look up your printer in the Printer Listings.
There are Setup instructions for the various printing system (CUPS, LPD, LPRng, etc).
i know that site. i don't know, i've think it so crowded with information, that i don't find what i need.
i also have just a very basic debian installed. i've tried to apt-get install cups, but then i got this
