Why does Knoppix kill my network?

I have Knoppix 5.2. Everytime I boot up, it kills the network. I have to shut off my hub, router & modem, wait then reboot. Also, what is the linux equivalent of the WinXP ipconfig /release & /renew? Any ideas?

Not sure why Knoppix is killing your network. The Linux equivalent of ipconfig is ifconfig. This article has good examples of how to use it.
