why cant i install fc3 on my comp


i had fc3 installed on my system. but i then decided to go in for fc2.
next i had to format my hard drive for some reasons.since i didnt hav fc2 cds,i went for fc3 again. but this time it wont install. the error displayed: bad media or problem with hardware. the cds were all fine. i had checked them before installation.
can anyone plz help me as to what is wrong with my comp.
system config:
amd athlon 2600+
256 mb ram(puma)
hdd: samsung
cd-rw: LG
kindly help.

Are you sure your CD drive is fine? I had a similar error with Debian, and it turns out that the drive was bad.

no prob with cdrom

thanx for replying friend, but i am sure ther's no prob with my cdrom as it is working perfectly fine with other cd's. i now hav red hat9 installed. the fc3 cd's were also fine as other ppl also installed from the same. do you think there could be a prob with my harddisk??

Hmm.. when do you get that error, and why don't you try FC4? How did you format the hard disk? Perhaps if you really think it is the hard disk, you could try using this application to destroy all of the data on it. http://www.killdisk.com
