Which wireless PCI card should I buy?

Hi guys,

I'm resurrecting an old computer for my brother. It's only a Pentium 4 1.4GHz with 256MB memory and as a result it runs XP really poorly. So, I've decided to put Linux on it (Ubuntu probably). I got it pretty much working (though it vibrates very violently ) but we no longer have a wired network and so I need to buy a wireless PCI card for it. Which would you guys recommend? i'm not looking for something that requires all that work with ndiswrapper and windows drivers, I'm after something that's natively supported. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Josis

Try to find a old isa based pcmcia oronoco HP or oronoco based cards. Im lucky enough to have one and they work like a wet dream.

other then that do a menuconfig in kernel source and check under wireless non hamraido to see what chipsets are supported. There are also increasing numbers of manufactures that release linux drivers.

Dlink cards with the drivers from there page work pretty good as well. just make sure and check there page before buying.

P.S. Im also not a fan of Ndiswraper but its better then nothing for some embeded cards. i give it on avrage a 30% chance of working.
