All drivers for all supported hardware is already installed. The only drivers that are not installed are those that are not yet ready for prime-time.
What manufacturer/model laptop do you have? |
Even tho' the webcam is built-in it's still most likely a USB device. Run the command 'cat /proc/bus/usb/devices' in a terminal and look through the output. One of the sections should describe your camera, and you can post it here.

laptop model no
i have an acer 4520. dual core amd 1.6 ghz, 1.3 mega pixel camera.

The camera in that unit appears to use the Ali M560x chipset. That is not yet supported under Linux, however, keep an eye on the Sourceforge project that is working to develop it.

Also look at this cam driver:

I just purchased a creative labs model LIVE Cam Voice. It is a fixed lens webcam, 1.3 mega pixals. I could not find drivers for it for linux. It works very well with XP. There are dual microphones, resulting in side noise cancellation.
If someone has the same webcam, and has succeeded in making it work. Please post your details or coordinates here. Thanks Leslie |

You would be better starting a new thread under a more informative title as your question is off-topic for this one, and people who could help may not read it. |
