Which one?
Hello
I am looking for a decent quality digital camera, but the only retailer in my town is Walmart
Has anyone bought any type from there and had it work with ease?
Also, I need a camera under 200, my budget's kinda tight
If you could tell me the chipset of the camera too or just the module I need for it I could go ahead and recompile my kernel and get ready
Thanks

Or, spend as much as you want on a digital camera, and pick up a smart-card reader for a few bucks... almost all of them are supported.

I invested early in digital cameras and as a result I have been through quite a few of them. My personal perference is for taking the media out of the camera, inserting it into so device that lets me access it from my computer. I find them that method to be faster, more stable, and more convienent. You plop the USB CF or smart-card reader on your desk somewhere, and bamo, never plug in another cable. Compact flash also has a nifty adaptor to make it pcmcia.
What I'm getting at is, care more about storage rather than compatibiltiy. Linux supports a wide if not all encompassing range of compact flash and smart card media readers. I like compact flash because of the 1gig IBM microdrive. Whatever you do, I suggest trying to get some form of media you can use in just about every divise you have (eg, compact flash in a zaurus, in a camera, in your notebook with adaptor, and in your main box with adaptor)
My camera of choise is the Sanyo 560. hard to get in the states, and a touch pricey but the features are rad and the form factor is small
