Which HD is faster?

I got an extra HD from a friend. I am wondering how to tell which one is faster. I want to know which one to install Linux to.

According to the specs here and here, the maxtor drive has a 133MBps transfer rate compared to 100MBps for the WD drive.

I think in general filesystem type will have a bigger effect on speed as these two drives seem pretty comparable.
