Which Graphics Card for Ubuntu 11.04

I have used Ubuntu 9.10; 10.04 and recently I upgraded to Ubuntu 11.04.
However, although the classic interface runs well and I am doing all the stuff I need to - I can't seem to be able to access Unity.
I am a comparative newbie but suspect it may be that I need a graphics card upgrade?
I currently use a G72 [GeForce 7500 LE] (I think).
Do I need a "better" graphics card and what one? How difficult to install? I have successfully installed memory and a new hdd; so know a little bit. But am not so confident about command lines and prefer working with the GUI.

G72 was used with 7200GS, 7300LE, 7300GS, 7500LE.

Have you installed the drivers? Try going here-

system-> administration-> additional drivers

That should bring up 'jockey-gtk' which lets you install the nVidia drivers.

No problem.

By the way, marking this thread as 'solved' is a good idea. (you can do that in 'thread tools' above the 1st post)
