Where can i find the device driver code on my systeM

Hi. im reading the linux device driver book from oreily online and was wondering where in the system i could find the code for drivers to take a peek at them? Are they buried in the kernel somewhere so that i should download some kernel source to take a look at them? I am interested in driver programming because i am sure knwoing how to do so is an asset to the linux community. thanks for any replies in advance.

99% of drivesr you'll likely use will be in the kernel source, yes, although many do still exist as independent projects
