What touchpad device (tap-to-click) is compatible with Linux

Hi,

I have a Logitech T650 touchpad. The click, scrolling, swiping work. But the tap-to-click doesn't work.
Since tap-to-click is important to me, I'm looking for another device that works on Linux (tap-to-click works). Any recommendation? Thanks.

If scrolling works, then tap-to-click must also work. I suspect that it's a configuration issue and that tap-to-click is simply disabled in your distro.
Open a terminal and type,
Code:

synclient TapButton1=1
Then test to see if tap-to-click is working.
Report back here and we'll see what we can do to make it permanent. (also, let us know which distro you're using)

It's not configuration issue. Please see http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Mice-a...ux/td-p/969401
The tap-to-touch of this particule touchpad doesn't work on Linux in general. From that thread, it seems that the device doesn't report tapping events. That's why I'm looking for a different device. I'm using a Gentoo.

It would help to kmow what OS you're using as it should be lisred in Mouse /Touchpad settings

I'm using Gentoo. I don't use Gnome or KDE. I just use xmonad. Every settings, I suppose, should be in xorg.conf. But as I mentioned before, this device seems not to report tapping to the kernel.
