What to compile in kernel for a touchpad on toshiba satelite laptop?

hi im compiling a kernel because my touchpad for my laptop is not working (not the only reason but one of the main ones) under the mouse section i don't see anything for it specifically. The only thing i can see is an option for IBM touchpad but not sure if that is what i need. Does anyone know what i need to include to use it or maybe i just need to reconfigure x-windows?

You may already have it installed.
Here is a example xorg.conf with it;
