i recently tried installing linux on my raid 0 array next to windows using my onbaord sata. but had no luck, and was told that it wasnt possible becasue it was fake raid, or something along those lines, newho, i was wondering if someone could tell me what kind of pci raid card i should get inorder for linux to install on a raid 0 array next to a windows partition, and installing fedora core 4 (if that matters)

Most discussions in this forum identify the 3ware controllers as good options for true hardware raid support. The cost of the adaptec cards is probably why they don’t get mentioned a lot, but they should work well, too.

The description of any true hardware raid controller will emphasize the presence of a processor on the card, so you can use that point to guide identifying potential candidates.
