What phone for Bluetooth DUN (Dial-Up Networking)?
 

I wanna be able to access the internet via my laptop wherever I am. The best way seems to be if I buy an HSDPA cell phone and connect it to my laptop. But before I buy a phone I got some questions:

Is every phone that supports Bluetooth DUN (Bluetooth Dial-Up Networking Profile) automatically usable in Linux? And do you think the Bluetooth data rates are sufficient for that kind of thing?

Are there phones that can be connected to a Linux computer via USB? Cause that would be real nice. File transfer and internet browsing would probably be a lot faster if I can USB instead of Bluetooth whenever I want to.

What would also help are some suggestions which phones are generally known for being Linux compatible, if there are any...

I used to use a Sony/Ericsson R520M, as a bluetooth-modem. It was only 9600 baud, which crawled. I believe most of the Sony phones have modem-capability (AT command set capable).

If you want to go GPRS over Bluetooth, your speed is going to be better, but still slow. These guides:
