A few month ago i bought a Lexmark x2580 multifunctional.
But I've found this problems:
- Cartridges are very expensive.
- Color cartridge is very difficult to find (I asked for it and they have been moths to send it to me). And I was told to buy cartridges 28 and 29 and now they are not compatibles.
- Every time I print, an error occurs because it tries to connect to internet (spyware).
- Problem detecting cartridges. It says there is not ink when there is.
- No LINUX drivers.
So I've decided to buy a new one. But, what multifunctional is completely Linux compatible? Is there any place where I can see if it's compatible or not?
Which manufactures offer drivers for Linux?
I'd thought about buying HP Deskjet F2180.
Do you suggest me another?
According to this link support is good for the HP Deskjet F2180. Have a look around www.openprinting.org, it's probably the best resource for which printers work with Linux.
HP has a linux driver out there for multifunction machines. You might check with them direct. I jusr ran across it in an rpm repository today. Also check out PricelessInkjet.com for reasonable remanufactured cartridges. They have worked for me and are very low priced.
Good Luck, MIchael
