Angry What is the most compatible modem with Linux?

I can't get my old modem to work with linux, and since no one responded to my thread when I asked how to get it to work, I have to buy a new modem. So I need to know what the best, most compatible, and simplest to install modem is under Linux. In case you need to know I use Fedora Core 1.

I had good luck with a U S Robotics V.92, but most true modems should
work. Search this site and you will find a bunch of threads on the topic.

The easiest modem to get to work with ANY operating system is one that is NOT a Winmodem and plugs into your serial port.

Linux has, however, good support for most modems, even Winmodems. Have you read the modem HOWTO?
