What is the best workstation grafics card for Linux?

If you do not have precisely the card mentioned, then vote for the same manufacturer which you have...nVidia, Matrox, Ati, etc.

The card should run smoothly Alias Wavefronts Maya, Softimage, Blender, PRO/Engineer and many others.

It seems that the nVidia leads the competition also in this branch...?
