What drivers for ATI Fire GL4?

I am having quite some problems getting any linux installed at all in my Celsius 460. It has ATI Fire GL4 in it. I was able to install SuSe 9.0 on it but now I am still having problems with the drivers. Ati drivers support only glibc 2.2 and SuSe has glibc 2.3. What drivers can I use with it so that I get reasonable rendering going too?

you are probably going to get decent rendering only with the ati proprietary drivers. Sorry.

The problem is that the ati drivers for Fire GL4 seems to be limited to glibc 2.2 and maybe only for XFree - so what can I do? Anybody using this card on a "modern" distro? I don't even get very far in the installation of most of the linuxes. Now I am trying Centos 4.3 (graphical install won't work of course only text). Yet I don't know what drivers to put once I come to the point...

you could always try tried and true vesa drivers (just don't expect "quality")
