What does this mean? ACPI errors


Is this bad?

CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+ stepping 00
ACPI-0311: *** Error: ns_search_and_enter: Bad character in ACPI Name: 43005350
ACPI-0292: *** Error: Looking up [0x43005350] (NON-ASCII)
in namespace, AE_BAD_CHARACTER
ACPI-0115: *** Error: acpi_load_tables: Could not load namespace: AE_BAD_CHARACTER
ACPI-0123: *** Error: acpi_load_tables: Could not load tables: AE_BAD_CHARACTER
ACPI: Unable to load the System Description Tables

boots normal but I noticed this in the dmesg log

Means you have a buggy BIOS in respect to the Linux acpi portion goes. Just means some or all of the acpi functions are not availabe with Linux. Please visit acpi.sourceforge.net for more information and help.
