What cheap and "on the market" soft fax modem to buy

Anyone good at analog soft modems in redhat?
I would like to find cheap soft modem to work well under linux, to be able to suggest it to other linux fans.

I tried motorola 56k, but they discontinued support and development and with newer kernel would not work. I have read lots of www.linmodems.com but it's a painful job to find out what chipset is particular modem (from the price list- dealers have no idea) has and than back check with linmodems.com

There is a remarkably large list of Winmodems here. Look for OK or LM in the far left-hand column.

Oh, and the it's not linmodems.com, it's linmodems.org. - Just me being pedantic.

I'm familiar with the list, but the drag is search through computer dealer pricelists, and then call them up, and bug them to tell you what chipset is particular modem using (and salesmen don't have a clue, so you wait 1 hour to get transfered 10+ times to find "technical" guy who will tell you that modem works fine with 98/2k, and thereis nothing about linux written on the box), and if lucky you can check www.linmodems.org to see that modem is/isn't supported.

I was kind of expecting someone had recently found a good one and would let me know whichone he's got.
