What are optical disc's made out of?


What materials are CD's, DVD's and Blue-Ray discs made out of respectively?

Short answer: Plastic (polycarbonate).

1) This isn't a Linux question, so it really should've been posted in Non-*NIX > General, which is there for off-topic stuff like this.

2) There's this little search engine called Google, maybe you've heard of it, that you can use to easily find the answer to your question.

Yeah, I've used it before. But I don't like using it too much because it has to be unblocked in noscript first. And I figure if I have to do it, so do others.

It's easy enough to just paste the straight google url, chop out a few unnecessary strings, and post.
