Unhappy what's wrong with my modem?

Every time when I wanted to connect,it says that "sorry, the modem is busy!".

my operating system is "Red Hat 7.2"
my modem is "HAMR 5600 Modem"

what's wrong with my modem?

Is it something about modem driver?

Is there some place where I can download the newest driver?

thanks! ^_^

I would definitely suggest that you have a Winmodem.

my modem is "HAMR 5600 Modem" - AMR stands for Audio Modem Riser which is a very cheapskate way of making a modem - even more than PCI Windmodems.

Although there have been many, many successes with Windmodems (especially those with some Lucent chips), it's by no means an easy task. My best advice would be to find some poor, unsuspecting mate that runs Windows and can use your modem...sell it to them and buy an external, hardware/serial modem.
