Cool webcamera and wifi card on laptop


Hello Everyone,
I am new to Linux, I need to detect the built-in webcam and wifi card on my laptop. This is a HCL brand of laptop, a good brand in India.
Secondly, I need to install the above HW. Please be very discriptive, step by step explanation will help.
ALso, I need to install Google talk on Linux. I use Drapper Ubuntu 6.06 The Laptop is a AMD 64 x2 Turion.
