Web camera Creative Labs Model VF0070 not recognized by Intrepid Ibex 8.10

Good day all

I will appreciate any help getting my web camera running.
Maker is Creative Labs, Model VF0070. I am using Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release of Ubuntu Linux, machine is Fujitsu-Siemens AMILO XI 1526.
Kernel version is 2.6.27-14-generic
I've tried www.qbik.ch/usb/devices, also support.creative.com to no avail.

Safe sailing

Dani

hi

first

after making a backup of your existing file and replace it with this one please....it has your ids in it.

suggest click file save as...usb.ids first to your home folder then use root powers to replace
/usr/share/misc/usb.ids

2) hmm the modules named on this page are not encouraging...looks like a patch file is needed?

hi

hmm ok do you have /usr/share/misc/usb.ids

if not try running locate with root powers

Code:
su (or sudo and the next line)
locate usb.ids
