Post Web cam not working

Hi experts....I have just switched from windows to Linux....installed Fedora 8 on my Dell Inspiron 6400...It seems great....but as I am a new user I am facing some problems...I already tried to find the solution by searching posts on this forum but am not able to find a solution that works for me.....

my problem is that I also installed Skype 2.0.0.68 & it is not able to detect my webcam

my lsusb output is below:
[root@localhost log]# /sbin/lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 413c:8126 Dell Computer Corp. Wireless 355 Bluetooth
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 0ac8:303b Z-Star Microelectronics Corp. ZC0303 WebCam
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

I think I already have the proper driver because when I plugin the webcam I see this message in /var/log/messages

Apr 12 01:54:27 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 4
Apr 12 01:54:27 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
Apr 12 01:54:27 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: ZC0301[P] Image Processor and Control Chip detected (vid/pid 0x0AC8:0x303B)
Apr 12 01:54:27 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: PB-0330 image sensor detected
Apr 12 01:54:27 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: Initialization succeeded
Apr 12 01:54:27 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: V4L2 device registered as /dev/video0

I know this webcam works with Fedora 8 on my laptop as it was working when I first installed Fedora a week ago but then I had to re install fedora because I messed with some thing.

Other related outputs which may help solve my problem are :

[root@localhost log]# uname -r
2.6.24.4-64.fc8
[root@localhost log]# rpm -qa 'kernel*' --queryformat "%{NAME}-%{VERSION}-%{RELEASE}.%{ARCH}\n"|sort
kernel-2.6.23.1-42.fc8.i686
kernel-2.6.24.4-64.fc8.i686

kernel-headers-2.6.24.4-64.fc8.i386
kernel-PAE-2.6.24.4-64.fc8.i686
[root@localhost log]# rpm -qa '*gspca*' --queryformat "%{NAME}-%{VERSION}-%{RELEASE}.%{ARCH}\n"|sort
dkms-gspca-1.0.18-1.noarch
gspca-1.00.20-1.lvn8.noarch
kmod-gspca-1.00.20-9.lvn8.i686
kmod-gspca-2.6.24.4-64.fc8-1.00.20-9.lvn8.i686
[root@localhost log]# "/sbin/rmmod gspca"
bash: /sbin/rmmod gspca: No such file or directory
[root@localhost log]# "/sbin/modprobe gspca"
bash: /sbin/modprobe gspca: No such file or directory

but still in Tools>options>video devices I see 'no devices found' .....can any1 please tell me what is wrong & how should I proceed...Please I will be really grateful bcoz I have been trying to find the answer for last 2 weeks...trying God know different things from different posts & no solution yet...now I have even lost track of the things I have done to make it work.

the other small problem is also with skype..I hear the sound of other person only in one ear....I have selectes hw:intel,0. in skype sound options

Just to let everybody know that my problem is still not solved. I have tried to check my webcam through ekiga, Camstream, Cheese, skype & amsn...it is not working with any of them...........I am really hopeless & fed up now...

I have even tried to reinstall my driver...there is agood website to help newbies choosing install webcam drivers on linux:
http://www.linlap.com/wiki/Setting+u...under+Fedora+8

tough my webcam is supported by the driver gspcav1 but It didn't work for me because my problem is diff..may be the porblem is not with Linux may be its with my luck ....but may be some one gets lucky.....

what is really pissing me off is that this same webcam was working before but after reinstalling fedora it never worked again......

Is there no one who can help me ????????????
