Wavecom WMOD2 Dual Band GSM Modem
 

Anyone here try installing Wavecom WMOD2 Dual Band GSM Modem before? I am a newbie to Linux and have just installed Red Hat 9. Will greatly need help on how to install this modem.

Modems and Linux have a long history of not getting along, too many winmodems, not a whole lot of interest from the open source community to black box a driver. For the most part we're reliant on the companies to produce driver packages. Wavecom might have some, or you might want to try linmodems.org, those are the best bets.

I have tried Wavecom website, unfortunately I could not go further as I was asked for a password. Apparently when their product is purchased, the buyer will be given a ID and Password. Well, I do not have such things (NO, I didn't steal the modem!)
In their FAQ, Wavecom mentioned that the Modem is compatible with many OSes, I presumed that this modem will work fine in Linux using standard drivers?. In Windows, the modem ran fine using the Standard modem drivers.

Anyone can teach me how to install this modem in Linux RH9?
