voodoo3/ati rage 128/HELP


Hello (I AM LINUX NEWBIe)I have been using mandrake 9.1 for about 3 months now all was fine (UNTIL) i wanted to put in a rage 128 ATi card in.Then all went to crap.I get error not able to start Xserver. it askes me to set it up so i set it up as a ati 128.Then it askes me to test.When it runs it's test the screen flicks off and on then it comes up cannot start Xserver want to read the output.

So what i did was pull out that ati card and put the voodoo3 back in and when through the set up again but get the same thing. What are the steps to fix Please help I'm not that good a command line but I will try anything ...............................I miss my LINUX

you will have to re-run the X Configurator...
you will need to know stuff like video card, video ram, monitor, monitors vertical and horizontal frequencies, etc...
just type xf86config at the prompt, and follow the on screen instructions...

ever seen this

I got it working but (all i mean everthing ) text and all is blue never seen that before i mean (screen, icons,text,) is blue have any 1 ever seen that

sorry

I forgot to say when i got it up and running I left it alone all was working . all the colors where right.So I let it run screen saver came on didn't think anything about it.when i moved the mouse next thing you know all text, screen, icons,all is blue did a reboot and even my BIOS boot screen had blue text LOL never seen this is weird as heck
