Volume refuses to turn up??

I'm running Fedore Core 3 (recently updated) on a Dell Latitude C640. The problem is basic and weird.. I had sound during the installation test. I have sound in GAIM, but not for an Audio CD. But the volume bar in the upper, right-hand corner refuses to turn up.. When I try to move the bar to turn it up, it seems to default back to the bottom. It refuses to turn up? Am I missing something? - Thanks.

Anyone? It was working fine before I installed updates using yum. When you try to move the scroll bar up it just forces its way down again.

Problem Solved...

If anyone else runs into this problem;

Open up terminal and su to root

Type - gnome-volume-control

Set the settings like you want it, su to user, and reboot.

Upon reboot you should be able to scroll the volume bar again.

Hope this helps anyone else with this annoying problem!
