Vivitar Vivicam 3359 problems

I can't get my 2.6 system to detect this camera, nor can I find any drivers that support it for Linux. Can anyone help?

The most relevant, current part of the /var/log/mesage file currently reads:

Oct 9 23:02:23 tuxedo kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:1f.2-1, assigned address 4
Oct 9 23:02:23 tuxedo kernel: usb.c: USB device 4 (vend/prod 0x2770/0x9120) is not claimed by any active driver.
Oct 9 23:02:27 tuxedo usb.agent[12644]: libgphoto2: loaded successfully

Another snippet above reads:
Oct 9 22:28:31 tuxedo kernel: usb.c: USB disconnect on device 00:1f.2-1 address 2
