Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Unhappy Visioneer Onetouch 9000 scanner support

I have just been given a Visioneer OneTouch 9000 USB scanner from my mum who doesn't need it now. It seems that this is one that isn't supported by SANE. Does anyone know of a backend driver for it to work with SANE? I am using Fedora 2 with a custom built 2.6.7 kernel although I am happy to use the default 2.6.8 Fedora kernel.

# sane-find-scanner

found USB scanner (vendor=0x04a7 [Visioneer], product=0x022c [USB Scanner]) at libusb:001:003
# Your USB scanner was (probably) detected. It may or may not be supported by
# SANE. Try scanimage -L and read the backend's manpage.

# scanimage -L

No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages)
