Unhappy videocard problem.

Dear all:
I have a problem with my new PC. It is an Dell optiplex 170L with intel865GV chipsets and embedded intel Extreme Graphics2. I am using Radhat Enterprise Linux WS v3.. I have added another kernel version (2.4.21-4.EL) just for installing the videocard driver (dri-i915-***.rpm). It seems the new driver works, except that I cannot adjust the resolution to 1152*864. I want to know what the problem is and how to solve it. Thanks!
