AMD E9173 Fire Pro , polaris generation chipset , basically equal to RX550 for linux gaming (which is a pretty week card). $53 on ebay

I don't know what I'll want in 10 years time. But with over 30 years in Electronics, I do know how fast stuff can and does change.

In fact, if you told me in 1990 that Ireland's class system, along with it's 1500+ year love affair with Catholicism was about to collapse inside the next 10 years, I'd have laughed long and loud. But collapse they did.

So I'm trying to future proof myself, and in that respect, lack of pcie-4.0 support sounds bad. Lack of pcie-1.0 not so much.

Glad you mentioned that. In the EU here. Amazon.com does not ship to Ireland, Ebay's 'global shipping' rips me off for import duty even when there's no import duty. Amazon are nearly as bad. Bottom line, postage & charges kill any foreign bargains that way. They are not bargains by the time I get them.

EDIT: My plan was to get a half decent AMD or Nvidia card for the short term with a budget of €100 - €250 in Ireland, preferably newer tech than old. Replace when needed. Hence, no APU. K.I.S.S.
