via chrome, p4m900 video driver

anyone know how to make the via chrome p4m900 chrome 9 video driver work, or for that matter where to find it?

the standard via drivers for xorg, even newest ones give me device not found, seems this card is not in their list yet. via's site is utterly useless, tons of drivers, one compiles giving me 2d after a tond of work, others are suseless and no 3d.

I am in gentoo, ubuntu pages have been useless to me, please no more ubuntu references.

I tried and gave up. I made a windoze partition so I could play Quake.
This link below claims you can but I couldn't get it to work. They updated a couple months ago to include the p4m900 but the link to the driver doesn't work. Next time I will never buy anything with via in it.
Maybe they fixed it, don't care any more...

I actually got it working reasonably well. the experimental branch of the openchrome driver gives good video playback and 2d, however 3d support just isn't available yet.

exodist,
I looked at the instructions...the first line cd /usr/src/linux doesn't exist. So I would be screwed right from the get go, as usual. I bookmarked your link in case I get really bored and decided to gum up the works on my computer. Oh I'm using Debian Etch.
thanx for the info....
