Very strange keyboard problem

As of an hour ago, my laptop keyboard is sending two characters for certain keys.

2 prints 28
w prints wi
s prints sk
x prints x,

Attach an ext. keyboard and behavior is normal. US keyboard, Arch Linux, FluxBox. I notice the affected keys are in a diagonal - significance unknown.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a faulty keyboard. As it's a laptop there's probably not much you can do - unless there's guarantee left on it.
The only thing I can think of trying is to clean what you can, maybe blowing hard or (carefully) w compressed air.
Of course, if you dare you can try to take it apart but I doubt you can fix anything.

Hehe, it looks as you've got a new kind of crypto-algorithm there! :D

Or a brand new language !!
I saw one once with backspace and delete not working, how do you delete with that?!! Well there is ascii codes.
It isn't easy to find replacement parts, but still, cleaning it
and also verify if the base of it, the thin aluminum base bellow the keys isn't smashed,
with a coin you might be able to push it back a flat state, be gentle it is soft.
And yet if the keyboard wont come back to work properly, there are USB and bluetooth keyboards that will do the job.

Regards
