Very low volume with sblive 5.1 2.6 kernel
 

hi! I recently reinstalled my Linux (now gentoo with 2.6.8-gentoo-r3) and now I cant get my sound working!
I have compiled alsa and the emu10k1 driver in the kernel and so far my soundcard is recognized. the problem is just that my volume is incredibly low. all settings in alsamixer and kde are at maximum and master and pcm in amixer at 100, but the output is still so low that i have to turn up my amplifier to -25dB to hear a reasonable sound but then all the distortions are amped too and the sound is prettz bad! does anyone know how to fix this problem? thaks a lot!

do you happen to have aumix or kmix installed??
if so, check the volume sliders of these also..........

yes i do have both installed and everything is at maximum!
