Very Low performance of Intel 945GM video card chipset on ubuntu 9.04
 
Hi all,i got this problem on a machine(my brother's pc)where i installed the last ubuntu "Jaunty".Everything is working fine except for the grafic card,i'm going to post some output to help the problem solving...please help me because the performance are so low....

The rendering is ablilitated but i feel it really slow,compiz effect are slowed,google earth is unusable,and also the scrolling of firefox could be better,this is the xorg.conf:

Hello ott0disk,

I have the same graphics card and had the same problem. The secret is to upgrade your intel drivers, upgrade your kernel to 2.6.30, and enable UXA mode in your xorg.conf. The gory details may be found here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1130582

Hi plaid,i fixed the issue by a long time,enabling the option "UXA" in xorg.conf but i recently disabled that because it freezes my pc very often...

From what I have read, upgrading atleast your machine's graphics drivers is necessary to make UXA acceleration stable. My machine has yet to freeze with UXA enabled after upgrading drivers and kernel.
