uvcvideo now has power mgmnt. udev or hal to setup?

The uvcvideo driver (for logitech webcams etc.) has just been patched to provide power management. This entails writing into sysfs something like

echo "auto" > /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb1/1-5/power/level
echo "10" > /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb1/1-5/power/autosuspend

I would like this to be done when my laptop boots/resumes and am uncertain whether I should be doing this via a udev rule, or via HAL.

Given that I cannot see power management ATTR entries from udevinfo, I think a udev rule would look something like:

ATTRS{idVendor}=="046d", ATTRS{idProduct}=="08c6", RUN+="/bin/sh -c 'test -e /sys/$env{DEVPATH}/power/level && {echo auto > /sys/$env{DEVPATH}/power/level; echo 10 > /sys/$env{DEVPATH}/power/autosuspend}'"

I'm not sure yet what an equivalent HAL entry would look like, since somewhat akin to the udev approach above, there are no power management keys rendered by lshal.

Tips on the right approach would be appreciated. I've posted on fedoraforums without response. I'm running fedora 8 with a 2.6.23 kernel.
