So i've used linux before and never gotten a webcam to work. I got a new laptop, the Asus g50v series and had installed ubuntu 8.10 on in and I noticed it had a built in UVC webcam so I figured it'd work...
so i typed "sudo apt-get install luvcview" then "luvcview" to see if it worked
and with my own amazement i was looking at my own face
only problem is it was upside down, tried to click the flip button on luvcview but only recieved an error in the terminal and the window remained upside down...
My question is...
Is there some kinda of linux application I can use for managing my cam... Adjusting brightness/ contrast/ Flipping it over/ ect?
Also what good is the cam if i can't use it? My main goal is to get it working with flash apps so i can use it on stickam.com is this possible?
