Angry /usr/src/linux not found

I'm new to linux

When running the "make install" command to install the drivers for my Intel PRO 1000 network card, it cannot find the /usr/src/linux directory

Now looking in this forum I should have a kernal source in here, but where can I get it from?

I've look, and looked, and I cannot find it anywhere on redhats website, can someone give me a link to where I can get the source from, i've also read that it on the ISO, which one?

Please Please Help.

If redhat is anything like suse then the kernel sources (the part you are looking for) are not installed during a normal install.

Check to see if they are from your cd/image/ftpsite. Redhat must have a fancy install tool for things like this.

When I had readhat, the sources were installed in /usr/src/linux-rh2.4, or something similar. Try ls /usr/src to see if there are any directories similar to this. If so, do:
ln -s directoryname /usr/src/linux
If not, the sources should be available through the redhat package manager under the development section. They were for me at any rate

For me, AC97 onboard sound was simply a case of enabling it in the bios, running sndconfig and then enabling the aRTs support in the KDE control panel

Unhappy

when I lspci it show my ac97 modem but now sound. How can I get this working! A step by step guide would be excellent, I know that some people say that I need to just enable sound, HOW? HEEEEELLLLLPPPPPP!

Why do you use KDE, why not GNOME (which seems to be the default)

Also, is it possible to set rh9/internet explorer to connect to the internet using my modem when needed, and to disconnect on idle
