Using dd to mirror WIndows

I'm wondering if possible/worth cloning Windows hard drives by booting to Knoppix and using "dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb conv=notrunc, noerror" or if I should just continue using Norton Ghost.

Are there things that I should look out for? Also, if the drive is destination drive is larger then the source, will it resize the partition to use all of the space of the new drive?

I did do a search, but I didn't find anything specific to a Windows XP hard disk. Thanks!

It's very doable - it can and does work, even between drives with different sizes. Search the forums for a recent tutorial on dd. (dd is your friend. dd loves you. partimage, a glorified front end for dd, is also your friend. Ghost is a waste of money.)

Hmmmm. Now do you want the objective answer or the subjective answer?
