I have an AMD CPU and after around 10 minutes of watching a video it drops it's frequency down to 800MHz and the video can no longer play.
This seemed like normal thermal throttling at first but the CPU and GPU never get actually get hot (thoroughly checked.)
I've tried everything possible using the acpicup_freq driver, minimum frequency, performance governor etc, many hours.
Before I give up I wanted to try the "cpu-idle-cooling" driver released with the 5.6 kernel. I have the 5.6.2 Kernel from the official Fedora repository but it does not have the cpuidle_cooling / cpu-idle-cooling driver (in binary or source.)

I'm attempting to build that driver using the official 5.6.2 kernel from source from Kernel.org then using that, does this sound plausible?
Has anyone used the cpu idle cooling driver on an x86_64 system? (It says it should work.)
