using a ZTE MF180 mobile broadband stick on SUSE 11.4
Has anybody managed to get this stick to work with Suse 11.4 ?
I have read the following thread :

which shows that it can work with Gentoo, but I am afraid that I am not competent enough to understand this.
The stick is showing up in my hardware manager as a comunications device on /udev/ttyUSB0 but it is not being recognised as a networking device anywhere.

I have also attempted to write a rules.d file for it, ( 15-zte-mf180.rules) and have saved this under /etc/udev/rules.d/ and also under /lib/udev/rules.d/ but again I am unsure if I have a). written the correct file, and b) pointed to it in the correct ways.

All help and ideas will be greatly appreciated, thanks.
