Not sure if any-one else has ever had this trouble (too lazy to search

)......
having 2 hard disk drive's on the same channel (ie. HDD on Primary master AND primary slave) has some problems with ISOLINUX.
ISOLINUX is the boot loader used to boot a linux kernel directly from a CD, and unfortunately, pretty much all cd-install based distro's (debian, red hat, slackware, mandy etc) will fail to start the setup.
Having 2 hdd's on the same channel isn't a good idea anyway, it tends to cause slowdowns although is sometimes necessary due to IDE channel restrictions.
SO..... the solution, MOVE ONE OF THE HDD'S FROM THE CHANNEL TO ANOTHER!

.
I am going to contact the maker of ISOLINUX to ask if he can fix this error, if not, nevermind.
