Recently have purchased a VX Revolution mouse from Logitech.
I'm trying to change the rate at where the mouse it's polled by the system, but all tests where useless.
I've tried pass the argument to the usbhid module in /etc/modprobe.d and verified through /sys/modules/usbhid/parameters/mousepoll that the module actually have loaded the option.
I've tried compiling usbhid inside the kernel, and pass the usbhid.mousepoll argument through grub. And verified with /sys too.
I've checked the rate using dstat -i, itop, evtest, evhz, and so on.
Have tried using 1,2,3,4,5 has parameter for mousepoll, both module and static.
I've tried echoing the value to it to the sys/module/usbhid/parameters/mousepoll
Nothing have worked, always the get the same result, 125 polls by second.
So I scratched little more down to the sources.
For the vendor
roduct the mouse, I've bypassed the usbhid-core.c check of the bInterval that the device reports, and fool the driver changing it to a smaller value.
Same for the Boot Interface Subclass the mouse reports.
Same for the HID_QUIRK_NOGET (though no quirks reported in /sys).
125 polls
.
Question is, ¿someone have same mouse and get more than 125 polls, and how?
¿It's a limitation of cordless mouses, or it's just this model?
Thanks and sorry about the king size post.
