usb2ethernet hangs Linux

Greetings LQers,

I have 2 FC6 linux boxes, both with TRENDnet USBtoEthernet adapters. On one box I have two usbtoEth connectors working fine. On the other I just connected one and almost immediatly the box hangs.

looking at lsusb and lsmod and modinfo i see both boxes have pegasus module and that seems to be the module for the kernel that handles my adapter.

on the good box:
Code:
$ /sbin/lsmod | grep pegasus
pegasus 30289 0
mii 9409 1 pegasus
$
(most of /sbin/modinfo pegasus , no 'alias' fields)
Code:
filename: /lib/modules/2.6.20-1.2962.fc6/kernel/drivers/usb/net/pegasus.ko
license: GPL
description: Pegasus/Pegasus II USB Ethernet driver
author: Petko Manolov <petkan@users.sourceforge.net>
srcversion: 0DCD109B71346B69A9F84B6
...
depends: mii
vermagic: 2.6.20-1.2962.fc6 SMP mod_unload 586 4KSTACKS
parm: loopback:Enable MAC loopback mode (bit 0) (bool)
parm: mii_mode:Enable HomePNA mode (bit 0),default=MII mode = 0 (bool)
parm: devid:The format is: 'DEV_name:VendorID:DeviceID:Flags' (charp)
parm: msg_level:Override default message level (int)
on the bad box:
Code:
# lsmod | grep pegasus
#
(most of /sbin/modinfo pegasus , no 'alias' fields)
Code:
filename: /lib/modules/2.6.20-1.2962.fc6/kernel/drivers/usb/net/pegasus.ko
license: GPL
description: Pegasus/Pegasus II USB Ethernet driver

parm: devid:The format is: 'DEV_name:VendorID:DeviceID:Flags' (charp)
parm: msg_level:Override default message level (int)
Any ideas?

Thanks,

Steve
